Cambridge & District CAMRA

LocAle Campaign

Cambridge CAMRA launched its LocAle scheme in 2009 and is one of over 120 CAMRA Branches to have done so. The scheme aims to encourage pubs to sell locally-brewed beers thus helping the local economy and cutting down on transport “beer miles”, as well as increasing customer access to excellent local ales.

We define a LocAle as one which is brewed in Cambridgeshire or within 12 miles of our Branch boundary (thus hooking in the likes of Buntingford and Potton). An increasing number of our pubs sell LocAles though, sadly, many are unable to do so because they're owned by a brewery or a pub company and can only access a limited range of beers through them.

Current known outlets for LocAles are as follows – but please note that many of these pubs ring the ale changes regularly so the beers shown may not be on at the time of your visit.
